In a professional capacity, Finn has worked as an audiovisual technician for over 5 years, with significant experience in mixing and producing indoor and outdoor theatre performances, live and live-streamed concerts, festival performances and church recitals, radio broadcasts, and professional studio recordings. Finn brings outstanding technical competence and an approachable, calm presence to every situation and context.
Finn’s practical skills include technical sound design (both temporary and installation), equipment maintenance and repair, general audiovisual equipment operation, system troubleshooting, basic electrical engineering, acoustic solutions, live mixing, studio production (solo and group), stage management, recording engineering, rigging and tower work, post-production (editing, mixing, mastering) and distribution, publishing, and marketing. In addition to this, Finn is highly proficient with a variety of industry standard software tools including Pro Tools, Reaper, Ableton, and Logic Pro, and distribution services including SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and Spotify. This is matched by Finn’s extensive experience and competency operating a range of professional audiovisual hardware and networking systems.
Finn is a multi-disciplinary artist, musician, producer, DJ, and technician working in live audio, audiovisual recording, and music production.
Finn holds a BA Music degree from the University of Oxford, where they specialised and received first class marks in composition and music production, and has been creating and producing their own music since the age of 12. As an instrumentalist, Finn is an avid bassist and folk violinist, and, since 2022, has become a dedicated Javanese gamelan enthusiast, playing with groups such as the Oxford Gamelan Society and the Bristol Community Gamelan Group.
Finn’s personal composition and production work has encompassed a broad range of styles, from abstract sound art to electronic dance music. Finn’s recent experimental sound art portfolio explored facets of the relationship between humans and nature, incorporating scientific records of lunar gravity, oceanographic sound recordings, and auto-ethnographic multimedia recordings of cave environments. In the studio, Finn has recorded and produced a number of projects, recently including an indie rock EP and a rave-inspired dance music album.
